Designing reporting Tools for amazon retail

The Problem: It should be obvious, but there really is no digital retail success story greater than Amazon's. How a retail business this large, with no brick-and-mortar footprint, and Earth’s largest selection, manages its inventory, profitability, and takes timely action in a coordinated manner at scale is an enormous challenge for a company that strives to maintain a Day 1 philosophy.

The Solution: Build retail analytics tools for our selling partners (vendors and sellers) along with sophisticated, scalable reporting for the Amazon business owners responsible for managing the retail business.

My Role: I spent 2.5 years leading user research, UX design, UX writing, visual and information design of financial reporting tools used by thousands of Amazon's retail employees every day. My role also included UX strategy and product thinking including: writing proposals, meeting with stakeholders, facillitating cross-team collaboration, creating and executing long-term UX plans, leading design vision on future states, and customer need finding via exploratory UX research.
